Snow Skin Mooncake

The snow skin mooncakes are a separate genre of mooncakes. These can be categorised under ‘unbaked’ confectionaries. The oil and fat content is much lower than the regular baked mooncakes because there is no additional butter needed to bake it inside the oven. The upper crust of these mooncakes is made from frozen glutinous rice and a variety of pastes are used as a filling.

We are very particular about the packaging as snow skin mooncakes are not baked and microbial growth is very common if proper care is not taken. A typical snow skin mooncake is served cold and tastes best if it’s defrosted for few hours before serving it. The chances of contamination are more in the case of snow skin mooncakes so we advise the customers to avoid long-term storage.
